The deadline for receipt of an in year appeal: You should submit your appeal within 25 school days of the date of a letter confirming the decision to refuse your application.

Appeals will be heard within 30 school days of your letter being received. Parents will be given at least 10 school days written notice of the date of the appeal hearing.

Appeals should be submitted to:

The Chair of the Board of Governors,
Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School,

TN35 5NA

Any additional information in support of an appeal should be submitted at least 7 working days before the date of the hearing. Additional submissions (additional evidence to support your appeal) received after this deadline will still be forwarded on, but it will be for the Independent Appeal Panel to decide whether to accept any submissions received after the deadline.

A decision letter will be sent from the school within 5 days of the hearing.

Waiting Lists

Where an applicant is offered a school place following an in-year application, and the offer is accepted, arrangements should be made for the child to start school as soon as possible, particularly where the child is out of school.

If your child is not offered a place, you can add their name to a waiting list. Waiting lists are ranked according to each school’s admission criteria. Please note that we cannot give any indication of timescales for the availability of places.

Process for delay and deferral

Please see below links for further information of delay and or deferral of entry to reception class & process for entry outside of the normal age group.
